Sara Aldrich

Literary Assistant

Sara Aldrich is the literary assistant to Brent Taylor at July First Literary, where she works across the editorial and administrative sides of agenting and has been part of the agency since day one.

Sara first began working with Brent as an intern in 2024 before becoming his literary assistant in 2026. A graduate of Hamilton College, where she studied neuroscience and creative writing, she spent four years working in an academic research lab studying addiction genetics before following her literary passions. She also holds a master’s degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University. At JFL, Sara provides editorial feedback and supports authors throughout the drafting and publishing process, with a particular love for the early-intervention editorial work that can make a manuscript sparkle.

Sara is a lifelong lover of words (effervescent! ethereal! precarious!) and has a soft spot for absurdist memes. Her hobbies include fiber arts, writing, allergen-friendly baking, and spoiling her army of cats absolutely rotten. She and her college sweetheart currently live—in Bella Swan’s words—“under a near constant cover of clouds and rain” in the Pacific Northwest, with a notable lack of vampires in their general vicinity.
