Kelsey Evans

Kelsey Evans is a literary agent at July First Literary, where she brings together an editorial eye, a marketer’s instincts, and a deep enthusiasm for helping authors build lasting careers.

Before entering publishing, Kelsey spent more than a decade in marketing strategy and content development, working with agencies and major brands including AAA, Dannon, and Target. She later began her publishing career as an editor before interning with Brent Taylor during his tenure at Triada US, gaining hands-on experience in manuscript evaluation, submissions, and client development. As an editorial agent, Kelsey loves helping writers discover the strongest version of their story and gravitates toward commercial fiction with irresistible premises, distinctive voices, and books that make it very difficult to stop reading.

Kelsey lives in Philadelphia but travels frequently with her partner, a pilot. When she’s home, you can find her rowing along the Schuylkill River, watching pro cycling, hunting down the city’s best croissants, trying to pet every dog in sight, and drinking enough coffee to make Lorelai Gilmore proud.
